Jay Mason Bucklew, 73, of 732 Richwood Avenue, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 23, 1960, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mayme Zinn Bucklew.

Born Sept. 7, 1886, in Preston County, he was a son of the late John Clark Bucklew and Samantha Gwyn Bucklew. He had been the credit man for WV Newspaper Publishing Company for many years and retired Jan. 1, 1959.

Mr. Bucklew belonged to the Masonic Lodge and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He also belonged to the Shrine. He was a charter member of the Morgantown Rotary Club and secretary of that organization for 20 years.

At the time of his death, he was survived by two sons, J. Mason Bucklew, Jr. of Morgantown and William H. Bucklew of Morgantown; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Conaway of Dallas, TX; one brother, Clayton Bucklew of Morgantown; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Cobun of Columbus, OH, Mrs. Jessie Eader of Mount Airy, MD, and Mrs. Sella Ocher of Columbus; and six grandchildren.

Burial was at the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
