Russell Clingaman of Bay City, Michigan, passed away, Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Brian's House with his family by his side, age 97.

He was born October 10, 1913 in Denver, Indiana to the late Samuel and Bessie (Whitney) Clingaman.

Russell married Marion Schoenenberger in St. Boniface Church on June 12, 1937; she predeceased him on March 19, 2011.

He was a salesman and billing clerk for over 39 years with First Automotive and a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church. Russell and his wife Marion volunteered many hours at church counting the collections and helping where they were needed.

He was an avid bowler and enjoyed working in his garden, bird watching, fixing and teaching the family how to repair things.

Russell was a very handy man and loved working with his hands and spending quality time with his family. He kept thriving for more knowledge and adventure right up to his last days he was with us.

He was a 3rd Degree Brother Knight for over 60 years with the Knights of Columbus Council #414. Russell also was a pallbearer with the Knights of Columbus and received Knight of the Year in 2008.

Surviving are three children; Barb Krzywosinski, of Kawkawlin, Carol (Tom) Rau, of Port Charlotte, FL, Jim (Vikki) Clingaman, of Richwood, TX., a daughter in-law; Dorothy "Peachie" Clingaman, of Essexville, eleven grandchildren; Roy Jr. (Lori) Krzywosinski, Deborah Pyscher, Cindy (Dave) Ferrio, Dan (Shanna) Krzywosinski, Gail Marinari, Mark (Kathy) Rau, Willis (Nathalie) Clingaman, Rodney (Ashley) Clingaman, Connie Herek, William Jr. (Joan) Clingaman, Bristan Clingaman and eighteen great- grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two sons; William Sr. and Thomas Clingaman, a son in-law; Roy Krzywosinski Sr., two grandsons; Trent Clingaman, Dustin Lackey, a great-grandson; Christopher Clingaman, two brothers, Leon (Lavonne) and Wendell (Maxine) Clingaman, two sisters, Lois (don) Clark and Garnett (Jack) Dock and a sister in-law, Joyce Clingaman.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 10:00am at St. Vincent DePaul Church. Fr. Robert J. Meissner will celebrate Mass and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Squires Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and at church on Tuesday after 9:00am. A Parish Vigil Service for Russell and Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Bible Presentation will be held Monday at 6:30pm at the funeral home.
