Most of his civilian employment was in sales and management for Electrolux, a branch of Sara Lee Corp. During this period he graduated from the Command and General Staff College in Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He was a life member of The Retired Officers Association and a member of the local TROA Chapter, The American Legion, and a member of Noel United Methodist Church since 1952.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Geraldine Fox Richardson, and a great grandson, Colby Patrick Turner. LTC Richardson is survived by his son, Thomas Fulton Richardson of Sarasota, FL; daughter, Nancy Richardson Alexander of Magnolia, TX; four grandchildren, Rebecca Richardson Hitchcock of Morris Plains, NJ, Amy Richardson Stanilious of Hackettstown, NJ, Allison Elaine Turner of Lubbock, TX, and Matthew Alvin Turner of Lewisville, TX; and great grandchildren, Christopher and Sarah Hitchcock, Jake and Zack Stanilious, Mackenzie Ann and Andrew Cooper Turner.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2011, at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2011, at Lane Chapel of Noel Memorial United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Flint Shea. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue, with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given either to the American Cancer Society or Noel Memorial United Methodist Church.
