SHELBYVILLE-Leo Leon Banning, 69, of Shelbyville died 6:55 a.m. Saturday (Dec. 2, 1995) in Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden, with military rites. Memorials: Seven County Kidney Fund and they wish for everyone to sign an organ donor card.

Mr. Banning was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Lakewood, the son of Carl Leo and Ethel Chism Banning. He was employed 42 years at the Shelby Electric Cooperative before his retirement. He was a member of the Baptist church and M.A.R.K., and he was a veteran of World War II. He married Emerald "Penny" Womack on May 4, 1952, in Shelbyville.

Surviving are his wife, sons, Arnold and wife Debbie of Beecher City; Nelson Leon of Morrison, Tenn.; grandchildren, Christopher at home and Angela in college in Pensacola, Fla.; brother, Roy, Osan, South Korea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Donald and sister, Mary.
