Virgil L. Arnett, 71, of Salem, Illnois, passed away Friday night, Sept. 27, 1980, in his home at Salem.
Funeral services were held in Ranklin Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. Burial in Salem followed the services.
Mr. Arnett was born in Hamilton County Feb. 12, 1909. He was the son of William Ezra Arnett and Lizzie Kate Harlien Arnett. He was married to Hazel Conner in Pottsville Oct. 24, 1927.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Willie Melvin Arnett and Eddy Jasper (Buddy) Arnett.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Arnett; one daughter, Mrs. Johnnie Ruth; two granddaughters, Mrs. Arnetta Box and Miss Laura Ann Bearden, both of Lafayette; two great-grandsons; his twin sister, Mrs. Virgie Stanford, another sister, Mrs. Ona Mae Howard; two brothers, J.B. Arnett and W.C. (Tink) Arnett; one aunt, Minnie Arnett of Hamilton; and one uncle, Willie Harlien.
