Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Franklin and Zolula Alma Bryant Edwards. She was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are: sons, Ted Burgess and wife Mary of Belton, John Burgess and wife Faye of Seneca, Walter Burgess of Belton, Tommy Burgess and wife Sandra of Anderson; daughters, Linda Bell of Williamston and Patsy McConnell and husband Jody of Anderson; sister, June McKee of Belton; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, J. N. Burgess, 4 brothers, 4 sisters and 2 grandchildren.
Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Open Door Community Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Upstate.
