Thomas Larry “Jimmy” Roberts, age 74, of Rome passed away Wednesday evening, December 23, 2015 at a local health care center.

Mr. Roberts was born in Floyd County December 21, 1941 son of Julia Marie Roberts and Curtis Ables. He had been a resident of Rome most of his life and was a veteran, serving in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, Mr Roberts served as a manager for several convenience store merchandising companies including Sav A Stop and McClain.He was a member of the North Rome United Methodist Church and enjoyed yard work.

Survivors include his wife Barbara Long Roberts; sons Dr. Lidell Hare and Coleman Roberts; daughter Vickie Tutt; Three granddaughters, four grandsons, and nine great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday, December 27, 2015 in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Sr,’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Avenue with Reverend Phil Patterson officiating, Interment will follow in Pine Chapel Cemetery, Calhoun. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 PM until the service hour. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Dr. Lidell Hare, Coleman Roberts, Dr. Justin Hare, Dr. Josh Hare, Eric Hall, and Rusty Manzell.
