Everett L. Johnson, 88, of Port Charlotte, died Aug. 12, 2003. He was born Feb. 22, 1915, in Rossville, Ind, to Charles E. and Olive Coon Johnson. He came to Port Charlotte in 1997 from Winter Haven, and was formerly from Highland, Ind.

He was a Army veteran of World War II. He was a superintendent's clerk in a steel mill. He was a member of South Biscayne Baptist Church in North Port. He was a 32nd degree Mason in Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of Port Charlotte; daughters Pam Glinski of Englewood and Dawn Baker of North Port; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Friday at James A. McKee Funeral Home, 14538 S. Tamiami Trail, North Port. The service will be at 10am Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, Punta Gorda. Published in Herald Tribune on Aug. 13, 2003.
