*** She died 3 days after birth - she was accidently smothered by blankets. Her father, John, had come in from work and went to lay down on the bed to take a nap. He did not know that baby Sara was lying on the bed, and he threw the covers down over the foot of the bed and covered the Sara by accident. As was custom at the time, the dead baby was all dressed up and lying on the top of the bed waiting to be buried, when Mary, her sister, came in and saw her lying on the bed. It was close to Christmas time, and Mary, being only four years old, thought this was her doll for Christmas, so she picked the baby up and was holding her when Harriett came in and found them.
~ Ben (1910) and Sara Virginia (1911) are buried in Mayfield, KY, in the same cemetery plot as William Leneave, Minnie Belle and Robert Leneave - no stone markers.
