Edgar was a son of Benjamin and Alice (Larrimore) Wamsley. In 1880 they were living in Oxford, Maryland. In 1900 he was an insurance collector and living with his sister Mattie's family in Baltimore. He was also a piano salesman for a while. He married Clara Burgess about 1904 and they had children Burgess, Esther and Mary and resided in Baltimore.
