Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday afternon at 4 o'clcok, with burial in the Masonic cemetery there.
Mr. McCollum was a native of Lafayette county, Alabama, where he was born August 8, 1856. On December 27, 1877, he married Miss Mary Elizabeth Enis, and in 1884 they moved with their family to Texas, settling in Grayson county. In 1905 they moved to Valley View, where they had since resided.
To this union were born nine children, seven of whom are living, as follows, Mrs. Hub Jones. Lubbock; Curtis McCollum, Paducah; Ector of Wichita Falls, Enis of Cleburne, Wylie of Gainesville, Dee of Bakersfield, California and Eddie of Lubbock.
Mr. McCollum had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for 27 years, and of the Odd Fellow for 28 years. He was well and favorably known in Cooke county, and his death brought grief to a wide circle of friend.
