John was born October 31, 1946, in Phoenix, AZ, the son John N. and Lillian (Maynard) Troutman. He attended school and later served in the United States Army. He was awarded a Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and 3 Oak Leaves and an Air Metal during his service. John was united in marriage to Faye Peterson on November 25, 1978, in Junction City, KS.
He was a happy man who enjoyed life, loved to play pool, go fishing, and spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, so he was employed as an over the road truck driver for many years and spent time all around the country. He enjoyed working with wood and building things from tables to a hutch. His pride in the workmanship was evident. He also enjoyed the company of his dog, Moose, spending hours talking to him during his illness. John also enjoyed dancing and he loved to buy piggy banks for his wife.
John is survived by his wife, Faye, of Ada, MN, one son, Nick Troutman, Ada, MN, one daughter, Buffy Bartly, Hemit, CA, three grandchildren, Greg, Jaden, and Chase Troutman of Ada, MN, one brother, Marvin, of Hawaii, six sisters, Mary Riesbeck, North Carolina, Linda Vollmar, Belinda Lyle, both of California, Frances Rhodes, Lexie Hayes, both of Denver, CO, and Rossetta Adams, New Mexico, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service: 3:00PM Friday, September 16, 2011, at Fredrikson Funeral Home, Ada. Visitation: One hour before the service at the funeral home.
Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
