From The Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake City, UT) - Monday, November 19, 1934:
REXBURG, Idaho - Mrs. Edna Anderson Marler, 32, died at a local hospital Sunday at 2 p.m. of burns received in the morning when trying to start a fire in the kitchen range with kerosene. The oil exploded setting her clothing afire. Her husband, Allen Marler, who was in an adjoining room, upon hearing the explosion, rushed to the kitchen, finding his wife on the floor. He carried her outside and summoned help. Mrs. Marler was burned badly everywhere except on her head.

Mr. Marler was burned on his hands, legs, and feet, and is in critical condition at a local hospital. [Their seven-month-old son was in another room with his aunt and she carried him to safety.]

Mrs. Marler was born September 24, 1902 at Independence, Idaho, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Olin Anderson. Her mother died [when she was almost two years old]. She was educated in Thornton schools and Ricks College at Rexburg. She taught school several years at Union.

She is survived by her husband [married May 8, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah], her son, Allen Kent; her father and foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Daniels; a sister, Cerilda Anderson Metzener; a brother, Leland Anderson; also several foster brothers and sisters, all of Thornton and Burton, Idaho.
