Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Jennings officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn cemetery.
Mr. Axley was born in Arkansas June, 1890 and had lived in McIntosh county for 35 years. Survivors besides his wife, Alice of Checotah include a son, Coleman; two daughters, Inez Tedford of Little Rock, Ark. and Dorothy Axley of Texas; a half-brother, Johnny Slaten of Pauls Valley; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Fortner of Seminole.
