Joel Burris Moore was born in Iroquois, Illinois, August 8, 1833, and came to Kansas in the early 1860's, and from 1864 until 1870, served as state representative, elected on the Republican ticket. He farmed until his death in Bourbon County, Kansas, on October 3, 1870.
