Jimmy was born in Weona, Ark. He was the son of Rossie (nee New) Privett of Arkansas and the late Lemon "Pete" Privett. He was the dear husband of Sue (nee Stanford) Privett of DeSoto, MO; dear father of Jimmy (Nancy) Privett of Festus, MO, Bobby (Sheila) Privett of Spanish Lake, MO, Scott (Stephanie) Privett of Ironton, MO, Randy (Terry) Loehr of Moscow Mills, MO and Theresa Storie of Lebanon, IL. Dear brother of Fred (Betty) Privett and Randy (Clara) Privett both of Mississippi, Jr (Dorothy and Charlie (Sara) Privett both of Arkansas, Frieda (Elmo) Foster, Geraldine (James)Castleman and Nancy Privett all of Arkansas. Dear grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Rev. Don Krumsig officiated the funeral service.

Jimmy enjoyed fishing, whittling and fixing old cars. He was a mechanic for Schaffer Shell in St. Louis. After his retirement, he was a bus driver for the Festus School District.
