Clarence Lee "Trixie" Blackburn, 99, of Vina, Ala. died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at his residence. He was a native of Franklin County, Ala. and a sawmill worker for 25 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Graveside services were held Friday, September 9, 2011 at Old Burleson Cemetery, Vina, Ala. with Bro. J.C. Blackburn officiating. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Ala. assisted the family.
He is survived by four children, Mildred Ewing and husband, Kenny, of Golden, Miss., Moses Blackburn and Marlin Blackburn, both of Vina, Ala. and Mike Blackburn, of Limestone, Ala.; two sisters, Marie Veasey and husband, Walter, of Okeechobee, Fla. and Lola Burcham and husband, Ronnie, of Saltillo, Miss.; one brother, John Robert Blackburn, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Girlie Thorn Blackburn; nine brothers and sisters, Charney Blackburn, Will Blackburn, Edgar Blackburn, Fred Hobson Blackburn, Emmitt Oneal Blackburn, Eva Belle Blackburn, Mae Blackburn, Marvin Blackburn and Clarence Monroe Thorn; and the mother of his children, Ruby Faye Blackburn.
Pallbearers were friends of the family.
