Leonard Conrad was on the first board of County Commissioners when Forsyth County, NC was created out of Stokes Co, NC in 1849. He was the 2nd largest land owner in the county.
One of his projects was building the "Philips Bridge" near present day Shallowford Road (Country Club Road) not far from Sharon Methodist Church where he is buried.
