Married Mary Ann Sharp 25 August 1831 and settled near the Roselle Community.
He established in 1831 Bethany United Baptist Church at Roselle, MO. He established a religioud newspaper called :Baptist Journal" at Ironton, MO from 1859 to 1861. Pastor of Pendleton Church for 25 years. He was shot by Union Army men in front of his home during the Civil War.
Bethany United Baptist Church built a knew building and relocated to Highway 70 (now Highway 72) and is still an active Church to this day, although it's membership is down. The pastor is the Rev Charles Buford.
This closed the orginial Bethany United Baptist Church on Highway MM and they stopped using the cemetery as well.
