Mrs. Alice Gertrude Coblentz Summers, residing at 4 Clarke Place, died there suddenly Tuesday afternoon. She was the widow of John Elmer Summers, who predeceased her on Jan. 20.
She was born near Middletown on April 29, 1884 and was a daughter of the late Charles C. and Emma F. Ropp Coblentz.
Surviving are the following children; Harold C. Summers, Knoxville, Charles David Summers, Philadelphia, Mrs. Ira Looney, Irving Texas, Miss Gladys V. Summers at home, Richard E. Summers, Knoxville and Mark Lee Summers, Middletown; a sister, Miss Kathleen Coblentz, this city, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Summers was a member of the Reformed Church at Middletown. Member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1067, Auxiliary and member and past president of the Jr. Fire Co. Auxiliary.
Friends may call at the M.R. Etchinson & Son Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will take place from the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Reformed Cemetery, Middletown.
