Barry D. Gray, 62, of Wiconisco St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at M. S. Hershey Medical Center.
He was born in Harrisburg, son of the late Charles T., Jr. and Mable "Eloise" (Dudley) Gray, a 1967 graduate of the former John Harris High School, a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, a recipient of a Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device and Air Medal for his honorable service to his country, a former employee of Harrisburg Steel, Dauphin County Prison as a Correctional Officer, Commonwealth of Pa, Office of Administration Mail Room, Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Central PA Blood Bank, member of Second Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and on the choir and in his leisure, enjoyed baseball, which he loved.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles T. III "Terry", Stephanie Gray Brown and Billie Joann Gray and leaves to celebrate his life, his daughters, Michele Elby of Harrisburg and Tiffany Roberts of California; his sons, Kasean Gray and Brian Pendleton, both of Harrisburg and Lamont Jones of Los Angeles, CA; his sister, Saundra E. "Sandy" Mundy of Philadelphia; several grandchildren and host of other relatives and friends.
His life will be celebrated on Friday, September 9th, at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary of his Church, 424 Forster St., with viewing 10 until 11 a.m. and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Arrangements entrusted to the Ministry of Comfort of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton.
