According to the Rootsweb Nicholas Knapp Genealogy, Gilbert was the 9th of 12 children of William and Sally Seeley Knapp. In the 1850 Census, he is 19 years old living with his parents, and it appears that he is married to Phebe and has a son William A who is one year old. As he apparently died shortly after this census, I do not know yet if he had more children. Will try to find out Phebe's maiden name and what became of her and their son. Any help is appreciated.
