Katherine A. Pfiefly, 93, of Reading, went home to be with her Lord Monday, September 5th, 2011, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center after being transferred from the Providence House.
Katherine was born in Reading on April 9, 1918, the daughter of the late Paul and Annie M. (High) Bauscher.
She was the widow of Ralph R. Pfiefly. He died 3/25/1991.
Katherine worked in the pairing room at Berkshire Knitting Mill for 25 years. She then worked for 10 years at David Crystal in Laureldale.
She was a 1936 Reading High School graduate.
She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Reading, and previously a longtime active member of Hope Lutheran Church, Reading.
Katherine enjoyed crocheting and painting scenery. She will be remembered for her strong faith and she was a blessing to all who knew her.
Katherine is survived by two sons, Ronald R., husband of Ruth Rothermel, of Waxahachie, TX, and Robert R., husband of Karen Rothermel, of Muhlenberg Twp.
She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Florence E. Eyrich and Jane A. George.
Services from St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 10th and Windsor Sts., Reading, Pa. 19604, on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 10:00 AM. Friends may call Saturday 9:00-10:00 AM at the church. Interment at Charles Evans Cemetery.
