Mrs. Bertis Heath Fordham, age 89, died Saturday at the Statesboro Nursing Home under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a homemaker and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Mrs Fordham was an avidgardener, lovedto fish, fabulous cook, loving mother, and precious grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lester Fordham and brother J.B.Heath.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law; Shirley F. and Roy Keel, Mary F. and BillRucker, and Sara F. and Waldo Waters all of Statesboro. Four sons and daughters-in-law; Robert L and Jean Fordham of Statesboro, John and Janice Fordham of Portal, Von Fordham of Statesboro, and Wayne and Sissy Fordham of Millen; 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Three nieces; Gail Heath Deal, Barbara Heath Wilson and Brenda Sue Heath Motes.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fordham will be held Monday in the Chapel of Joiner-AndersonFuneral Home with Elder Jack Andersonand Rev. Tom Osborne officiating.
Burial will be in Upper Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Kim Keel, Darrell Rucker, Bo Fordham, Keith Fordham, Travis Fordham, and Jason Fordham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Keel, JeffRucker, Brian Fordham, Von Fordham Jr., Shannon Fordham, and Nick Fordham.
