On this 12th day of November, 1918, before me the undersigned, a Notary Public within and for the County and State aforesaid, personally appeared Tabitha E. Fretter, aged 75 years, a resident of the city of Bowling Green, County of Wood, Ohio, and who being by me first duly sworn according to the law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain a pension granted to widows of ex soldiers of the late Civil War under the Act of Congress approved April 19, 1908 and its several amendments; that she is the widow of Thomas O. Fretter, who was enrolled as a Private in Co. "H" 103rd Regiment, Ohio Infantry Volunteers on the 25 day of July 1862 and was honorably discharged therefrom on the 27 day of October 1864 by reason of loss of right arm from gun shot wound; and who died at his late home in Bowling Green, Ohio on the 20 day of October 1918; that she was married to said soldier under the name of Tabitha Elnor Armstrong on the 7 day of July*, 1865, at Bridgeport, Franklin County, Kentucky by Rev. A. R. Macey, a minister of the Baptist Church, there being no legal barrier to such marriage; that neither she nor the soldier were ever married prior to their marriage to each other; that she did not aid or abet the late rebellion of the United States; that no child or children of the soldier are surviving him who were under the age of sixteen years at the date of his death; that a prior application for pension has been made by the soldier and he was pensioned under certificate No. 39270 as Private in the service aforesaid; that her post office is No. 202 Troupe Avenue, Bowling Green, Wood County, Ohio.
