Friends and neighbors of Edward J, Litchfield will be grieved to hear of his sudden death in his home at Chestnut Street, Haydenville, on December 18. Born in Chesterfield on Aug. 18, 1841, he came to Haydenville at an early age, and has remained here practically all his life, covering a period of about 60 years. He was employed by the Haydenville company nearly all of that time. He leaves, besides his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Sloane, of Melrose, and Mrs. Jennie Winchester, of Keene, N.H.; one brother, Arthue, of Nova Scotia, and six grandchildren. The funeral will be held at his home on Saturday, Dec. 20, 1924, at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. Mr. Life officiating. Services will be private. Burial will be in High Street cemetery.
