Julia McDonald Chandler was the Daughter of James Knox Polk "J.K.P." McDonald (1846-1922) and Sarah "Sallie" Elizabeth McCain McDonald (1852-1929). Her Parents are buried at the McDonald Cemetery in Marshall County AL.

Julia was 91 when she passed away at her daughter's home in Memphis TN. She had been an invalid for several years. She had lived in Columbus City in Marshall Co., AL all of her life until she went to Memphis about 20 years before her death. [She lived a few years in Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN with her son, James.]

Her funeral was held at Carr Funeral Home's Chapel in the Pines by Rev. George Walley and Rev. Hugh Dobbs and burial was at the Prospect Cemetery in Marshall Co., AL.

She was survived by a son, James E. Chandler of Trenton, GA.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Elmer Brown of Memphis and Mrs. James Sims of Montgomery; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Among her relatives were: a granddaughter, Mrs. Charlie Brown of Georgia Mountain; a son-in-law, Dick Wood of Ringold St.; 4 nieces, Mrs. Harvie Forrester and Miss Tobe Shipp of Claysville, Mrs. Warren Morgan of Buck Island and Mrs. Dora Lee Adkins of Huntsville; and 2 nephews, Gordon McDonald of Claysville and Decosta Chandler of Gadsden.
