He was born Nov. 23, 1912 in Marshall County to William and Nora STATER WINTERROWD, and moved from Wisconsin to Argos in 1951. On Jan. 9,1952 at Argos, he was married to Harriett HERSHBERGER, who survives. He retired in 1980 after working many years for the Indiana State Highway Department and as a farmer. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater, and was a member of the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos.
Surviving with the wife are a daughter, Mrs. David (Nina) FITZGERALD, Fort Wayne; a son, Joe [WINTERROWD], Leesburg; three grandchildren; two sisters, Opal DEIDRICH and Maude LYBERT, both of Ladysmith, Wis.; a brother, Harley [WINTERROWD], of Bruce, Wis., and nieces and nephews. Three brothers and five sisters preceded in death.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Walnut Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Gary EDWARDS officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Grossman Funeral Home in Argos from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and on Wednesday for an hour before time of services. Memorials may be made to the Walnut Church of the Brethren and/or the Argos Emergency Medical Service.
