John A. DeGear was found dead in his bed about 6:30 o'clock this morning, by Mrs. DeGear, death evidently being due to heart failure.
Mr. DeGear was night watchman here for several years. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham DeGear and was born March 13, 1865 in Jo Daviess County, Illinois. He moved to Bellevue 34 years ago and married Mrs. Emma Taylor of Jackson County, Ia., at Galena, Ill., May 14, 1894.
He leaves his widow; two sons, William and Orin DeGear, Bellevue: a brother, George DeGear, of Savanna, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
