Marriage info shared by Donna Kearley, January 20, 2015: "Georgia, Marriages, 1808-1967," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FWHD-3YJ : accessed 20 January 2015), James M. Hollis and Sarah "Saderwhite", 02 Dec 1841; citing , Harris, Georgia; FHL microfilm 327,523.
Sara Hollis died between the 1900 census when she was found living with her husband, James, in Union, Washita Co., Oklahoma Territory and the 1910 census.
Researchers believe that she was buried in the Oakdale Cemetery (Washita Co., OK) near Mountain View, Kiowa Co., OK. No stone has been found for her in the cemetery but there are many unmarked graves there. To date, she is considered an unconfirmed burial.
Sara (Satterwhite) Hollis is often found listed as "Clara" on various Ancestry trees. This is incorrect. David Morgan shared the following on Sara's name: "My grandmother, Leta Jane Hollis Barber, knew her grandmother in her lifetime, and said that her name was Sara, it was never Clara. I do realize that there is a mistake in the marriage record of Harris County, GA, where it does look like Clara."
