Macy graduated from Laurel High School and attended the University of Mississippi where she was a cheerleader and a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She later attended Bowling Green Business College where she earned her degree in office management. A longtime active member of First Trinity Presbyterian Church, she was also an active member of the Women of the Church. Macy's love of Laurel showed throughout her life through her many civic commitments. She was a loving wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother to her family.
