David and Isabelle's (Primrose) second child, Martha, born in April 1879, married a man who worked for David Primrose as a hired hand, named Joseph Smith. Joe and Martha moved to Wyoming where Joe worked in a mine and died in a mining accident, leaving Martha with three young children, Mary, Edna and Bill. Another son, David, lived with his grandparents David and Isabelle, and died at eight years of age in an accident while helping to stack hay. David is buried in the Primrose family plot in Dublin Cemetery.
