Carl Edward 'Uncle Snap' Fladd
Services for Carl Edward "Uncle Snap" Fladd, 70, of Eustace are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at Foster & Brown Chapel in Athens with the Rev. O.E. Davis officiating.

Burial will follow at Frizzell Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home.

Mr. Fladd died Dec. 6, 2004, in Tyler.

He was born June 4, 1934, in Henderson County to W.C. Fladd and Amanda Parker Fladd.

Not only was Uncle Snap a fantastic father, he was a best friend to anyone he knew. He was the life of the party and always had a way of making you smile.

He loved anything outdoors and loved to fish.

He knew everything about old cars and could simply astound you with his knowledge of things.

The family member who writes these words is not a poet or a writer, only a nephew.

But to me he was not only an uncle, he was my best friend and there is now a void in this family that will never be filled.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Willie Floyd Fladd; and sister, Wilda LaVerne Scarborough.

Survivors include his mother, Amanda Parker Fladd of Athens; daughters, Freddie Carlene Fladd of Athens and Martha Darlene Williams of Mountainburg, Ark.; sons, Jacky Allen Fladd of Fayetteville, N.C., and Rodney Dewayne Fladd of Athens; sister, Charlotte Fladd Lambright of Lancaster; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Bowman, Jeremy Bowman, Scott Washington, Michael Washington, Chris Robinson and Jeffrey Scarborough.

Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

There will be a family gathering at 1 a.m. Thursday in Murchison at the home of Wayne Bowman.
