Sabra Emma Hollaway was born near Northville, Mo. and when 12 years of age she came with her parents to north of Ogallala, Neb., where she lived until ten years ago when she moved to Salem, Oregon. She lived there until last November when she came to be with her children in Douglas.
In July, 1897, she was united in marriage to Walter Edward Coates. To this union six children were born; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Dedmore, Mrs. Hazel Rose of Douglas and Miss Anoke Coates, who is finishing college at Wilamette University at Salem, Ore.; three sons, Floyd of Woodlake, Neb.; Buck of Careyhurst and Keith of Douglas. Surviving also are nine grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers.
