He was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Bracken County, to Rector and Emma Messersmith Chinn. At an early age he moved to Mason County where he remained until his death.
He was a member of the Germantown Christian Church and had served as a deacon for more than 25 years until his health failed.
Along with farming, he was employed by Liggett and Meyer Tobacco Company and spent more than 25 years on the Washington and Robersonville, N.C., tobacco markets.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ann Haughaboo Chinn; their daughter, Caroline and son-in-law, the Rev. Kenneth Semon, who live in Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Scott Maynard of Frankfort and Jennifer Semon Muller and her husband, Adrian of Bristol, England.
Mr Chinn was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Chinn.
