OBITUARY - The Paris News 9/6/1917
James T. Jones, an old resident of Lamar county, died at his home in Blossom Tuesday night after a long illness. He was born in Springfield, MO., June 30, 1845, but spent nearly all of his life here, his father, the late Capt. Jones, having come here many years ago about 1865. He married his wife Jennie in Dec 15, 1867 in Hot Springs Co., AR.
The deceased lived on the farm a number of years and ran a gin, but moved to Blossom several years ago and had been leading a retired life. He had a great many friends and was universally esteemed as an upright man and a good citizen. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. W. E. King and Miss Dulcie Jones, all of Blossom.
