The daughter of William Perry Lewis and his wife Miranda Short. Perry was son of Daniel Lewis and his wife Abigail Brown. Miranda was daughter of Aaron Short and his wife Mariah Wall.

Lydia never married. She lived with her parents until they died. In 1910, she was living with her married sister Julia Pritchett and her family near Lonedell. In 1920, she was living with her brother David and his family, also near Lonedell.

She died in St. Louis in 1924, age 72.

Her death certificate states she was taken back to Franklin county for burial. Informant was her nephew, James Pritchett.
