MRS. KIDD DIES AT HOME HERE LATE FRIDAY
Beloved Newnan Matron Passes After Illness Of Several Weeks
Funeral services for Mrs. John Kidd, beloved Newnan woman, who died Friday following a serious illness of serveral weeks duration, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Baptist Church, with Dr. C. C. Thomas officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Kidd passed away Friday, in her sixty-sixth year. She was the former Miss Donie Zipporah Jackson, and was born in the western part of Coweta county, and first came to Newnan to Mr. Walker's school. After her marriage, she lived in Heard county, coming to Newnan with her family in 1912.
A woman of fine Chirstian character, Mrs. Kidd symbolized perfectly nobleness, generosity and motherly love. Beloved as mother, neighbor and friend, her passing has left vacant a place in the hearts of a host of friends both here and in other sections of the state.
A host of friends and relatives gathered Sunday to pay their final respect to her. Pallbearers were Judge W. L. Stallings, Ernest Kidd, John Kite, J. Smith, Eugene Askew and R. B. Hubbard.
She is survived by her husband, nine children, Jewel, Mary, and Una Kidd, of LaGrange; J. P. and Rebecca, of Charlotte, N. C.; Zipporah, of Dublin; Mrs. J. H. Sappington of Trion, Ga.; Harriett, of Concord Ga.; and Alice, of Newnan; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. T. N. Smith; and Mrs. J. B. Carnes, of Newnan; three brothers, Lavoisier Jackson, Waco, Ga.; Tom Jackson, Bremen; and W. P. Jackson, Newnan.
