Obituary - Fulton Daily Sun - Dec 10, 1943 -"Mrs.J.E. Muir of Hatton Dies Friday. Succumbs Soon After suffering Stroke at Home of Her Daughter." Ms Sallie Muir, 80 years old, died at 5:00 Friday a.m., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rob Brown, north of Fulton. She had been in failing health for several years and about 2:00 a.m. she suffered a stroke. An ambulance had been secured and plans made to bring her to a hospital, but she died before these could be carried out. Funeral services will be held a 2:00 Sunday afternoon at the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church at Hatton, of which she had been a member many years. The last rites will be conducted by Rev. H.H.S. DuBois of Auxvasse and burial will be in the church cemetery. She was married in early girlhood to Book Muir who preceded her in death. Survivors include Mrs. Brown, a grandson, Gene Brown and a great granddaughter. Mr. and Mrs. Muir lived all of their married life in Hatton community, where Mr. Muir was an extensive farmer and widely known cattle breeder and feeder. Mrs. Muir was one of the beloved women of that part of the county and numbered her friends by her acquaintances"
