Homer Allen Crutcher was born January 18, 1895 in Texas, son of _David Perrin_ Crutcher and Mandie Abbie Kite (1870-1952).

The 1900 Federal Census for Justice Precinct 5, Texas (Milam County) shows Homer Crutcher, age 5, born October 1894 in Texas; living with his mother, Abbie Kite Crutcher, a widow, age 29, born March 1871 in Texas. Homer's siblings are also in the household: Balous Crutcher, a farm laborer, age 12 born August 1887; Hattie Crutcher, age 9, born February 1891; and Edgar Crutcher, born October 1897; all born in Texas. The family is living in the household of Abbie's mother, Margaret Kite, a widow and a farmer, age 59, born in Alabama; and her son, Will Kite, a farm laborer, age 28, born April 1872 in Texas.


Sometime before 1910, Homer's mother married again. The 1910 Federal Census for Justice Precinct 2, Texas (Grayson County) shows Homer Crutcher, age 15, born in Texas; and his brother, Edgar Crutcher, age 12, born in Texas; living with their mother, Abbie Thompson, age 40, born in Texas; and her new husband, Alt A. Thompson, a farmer, age 48, born in Texas. The census shows that Alt and Abbie had a child, Fay Thompson, age 3, born in Texas.


The World War I Draft Registration Cards show that Homer Allen Crutcher registered for the draft in Tulsa, Oklahoma (Tulsa County) on June 5, 1917. He gave his full name; his age as 22; his birthdate as January 18, 1895; his birthplace as Rockdale, Texas; his current address as Tulsa, Oklahoma; his occupation as a painter, and his marital status as married with no children.


On January 6, 1927 in Union County, Arkansas, Homer married Hepsy Matilda Mayfield, who was born October 17, 1898 in Missouri, daughter of George Martin Mayfield (1876-1967) and Cordelia Clementine Willard (1876-1966). Homer and Hepsy had two children: Hepsy Mae Crutcher (1931-2010) and Glenna Dayle Crutcher (1939- ).


The 1940 Federal Census for Gladewater, Texas (Gregg County) shows Homer A. Crutcher, a city street paver, age 45, born in Texas; and his wife, Hepsy, age 48, born in Missouri. Living with them were two children: Hepsy Mae Crutcher, age 8, born in Oklahoma; and Glenna Crutcher, age 7 months, born in Texas.


Homer and Hepsy subsequently divorced and Hepsy remarried and Homer married Rosa Pearl ____ who was born October 7, 1906 in _______, daughter of ________.


Homer died April 10, 1970 in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) and was buried there in the Highland Cemetery.

Rosa died in Mineral Wells, Texas (Palo Pinto County) and was buried in Durant in Highland Cemetery beside her husband.
