FINAL RITES HELD AT OAK HILL CHURCH FOR ARCHIE C. COPELAND
"Archie C. Copeland, prominent retired farmer of the Oak Hill community, died Friday morning at Grace Hosptial here after a brief critical illness that followed two years of declinging health. He was 67 years of age.
Death was attributed to heart trouble, and he was admitted to the hospital for treatment last Sunday.
Mr. Copeland was well known throughout the section and before moving to Oak Hill community four years ago upon retirement from active work he was for many years engaged in farming on the Johns River.
He was a native and life-long resident of the county, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Copeland. For 39 years prior to his death he was a member of Arney's Chapel Methodist church.
Surviving are his widow, who was before her marriage MIss Hennie Christenberry; three daughters and three sons, and he leaves eight eight (sic) grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Oak Hill Methodist church in charge of the pastor, Rev. V. R. Masters, assisted by Rev. A Burgess of Connelly Springs. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery.
Pallbearers wer R.V. Michaux, L.A. Kincaid, Cam Miller, Albert Stephenson, H.M. Lingerfelt, and Wilson Whisenant."
