Mrs. Agnes Davis Bailey, 70, of Beaufort, died March 26 at Charleston hospital after an illness.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Beaufort Baptist Church, with the Rev. Richard Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery. Ridgeland Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bailey was born Oct. 11, 1884, in Bluffton, daughter of the late E.L. Davis and Maria Graves Davis. She had lived in Beaufort for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Beaufort Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, James H. Bailey of Beauford; four daughters, Mrs. H.D. Padgett of Ridgeland, Mrs. Julie Graham of Wenatchee, Wash., Mrs. J.F. Padgett of Bluffton and Mrs. Margie Montanaro of Syracuse, N.Y.; six sons, Henry J. Bailey, J.E. Bailey, W.W. Bailey and D.F. Bailey, all of Waynesboro, Ga., and T.L. Bailey of Newman, Ga.; two brothers, Albert Davis and Ned Davis, both of Pritchardville; 34 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
