Brother of Lt. Stephen P. Corliss, Civil War Medal of Honor recipient.
Enlisted Jan 22, 1864 in Co. C, 7th NYHA. Participated in engagements at Harris' Farm, North Anna, Po River, Shelton House, Cold Harbor and Petersburg. Taken prisoner at Petersburg June 16, 1864 and taken to Andersonville Prison, GA. Died from "diarrhea" at Andersonville on August 24, 1864 and buried in Grave #6662. An 18 year old painter at the time of enlistment on 1/22/64. He was captured at Petersburg, Va. 6/16/64, and later died of disease at Andersonville prison.
