Son of Jonas and Cinda Jane Slater Bainter. Married Gertrude Emma Geyer 27 Oct 1917 in Muskingum County, OH.

The Times Recorder newspaper (Zanesville, Ohio) dated August 14, 1954:

Paul Bainter, Veteran Attorney Found Dead

Paul Bainter, prominent Zanesville attorney for the past 45 years was found dead in his offices in the Masonic Temple shortly before 5 o'clock Friday afternoon. He was 78 years old.
Mr. Bainter had apparently been working at his desk, alone in the office and was found upon the floor by Booth Burk, custodian of the building who was making his final rounds of the afternoon.
Dr. S. S. Daw, Muskingum county coroner estimated Mr. Painter had been dead of a heart attack several hours.
A son of Jonas and Cidna Slater Bainter, he was born on a farm near Adamsville Aug. 27, 1876. He attended the district rural school and Adamsville high and to further his education he became a teacher in an elementary school in 1896.
Mr. Bainter continued his studies when possible and in 1904 received a bachelor of arts degree at Ohio Northern university, at Ada, Ohio. He continued his studies for the next two years, having as his roommate B.E. Leasure who also became a well known local attorney, and in 1906 received his... (missing)

The Times Recorder newspaper (Zanesville, Ohio) dated August 19, 1954:

The sudden death of Attorney Paul Bainter, came as a shocking blow to the entire community of Zanesville. Although he had reached the comparatively advanced age of 78, it is difficult to believe that this vigorous and buoyant personality has been snatched from our midst.
Paul Bainter had been a leader of the legal profession in this city for 45 years, and true to his nature, was seated at his desk working when fatally stricken.
A native of Muskingum county, he was a product of the county's rural school system, and after a period of teaching, completed his education at Ohio Northern university. He again entered the teaching profession, but soon began to study law, practicing his profession in Dresden.
He came to Zanesville in 1919, and since that time took a keen interest in every phase of civic and communal life. He was a faithful member of the St. John's Lutheran church, and was active in various Masonic bodies.
His unselfishness, kindheartedness and human understanding endeared him to all with whom he came in contact.
His loss cannot be measured in words. His passing has left a rent in the hearts of a legion of friends that will not soon be healed.
This community is poorer in losing such a stalwart citizen.
