A happy and healthy little girl. I do not know how old she was when tragedy struck but I have learned that she got German Measles as all children do and due to the infection spiraling out control and a high fever which then probably caused Meningitis or Encephalitis. This reaulted in severe & permanent brain damage. For some time Adalines mother tried to care for her at home but that became increasingly difficult. At some point Adaline was placed in the Polk State Institution for the severly mentally challenged. She died in 1946 and was buried in the family plot at Uniondale Cemetery.
