Bellville - Mrs. Abigail Elston died at her home on South Main Street, on Friday morning, December 22 days, aged 75 years. She had been ill with la grippe for a few days, but her condition was not considered critical. She had gotten up unassisted and was resting on a couch, while her bed was being arranged. An unusual breathing attracted the attention of her grandson, who was in the room and, in going to her side, he found her expiring. The funeral took place on Sunday at 2 p.m. from her late residence. The services were conducted by Rev. Caldwell, who was assisted by Rev. Dr. Canfield and Rev. Barnett, Jr. Mrs. Elston leaves one daughter, the wife of Irwin Fisher. Wm. H. Elston is a step-son. Mrs. Elston was a woman of deep religious convictions. The funeral sermon was preached from a text of her own selection and the hymns were those for which she had expressed a preference, having requested her pastor and his wife to sing one of them during a call the evening before her death.
