Eldest son of Thomas Boleyn, 1st Earl of Wiltshire and Ormond, and Lady Elizabeth Howard.

He was the elder brother of Anne Boleyn, Queen of England; Lady Mary Stafford and George Boleyn, Viscount Rochford.

Thomas is believed to have died young, although the brass on his tomb is dated to 1520. That date is thought to be the date the brass was installed, and not the date of his death. A separate brass dedicated to his brother Henry Boleyn, another son that died young, is also dated 1520 and indicates that both brass markers were made in the same year. Henry Boleyn is buried at Hever.
