Services for Mildred Inez Redwine Tannehill, 97, of Abernathy will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Abernathy with Rev. Lloyd Stice, pastor of First United Methodist in Post and Rev. Jerry Don Cheshire, pastor of First United Methodist in Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in the Center Plains Cemetery in Cotton Center under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy.

She died February 17, 2006 at Golden Plains Nursing Home in Post, Texas.

She was born September 30, 1908 in a dugout in Lynn County, Texas. She graduated from Tahoka High School in 1927. She married Frank Elvene Tannehill on November 3, 1935 in Dickens, Texas. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts in the 1950's. She worked for Abernathy ISD from 1957-1963 and Pinson Pharmacy from 1964-1985. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in 1978-79. She was active in the First United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school superintendent in the 1950's.

She is survived by two sons, Lane and his wife Margie Tannehill of Post, Texas and Mike and his wife Judy Tannehill of Marshall, Texas; one grandson, Tim and his wife Cheryl Tannehill of Big Spring, Texas; two granddaughters, Traci and her husband Kirk Stevens of Post, Texas and Mika and her husband Brian Beverly of San Antonio, Texas; six great grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler and Tobyn Tannehill, Branda and Blace Stevens and Katherine Renee Beverly.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Michael Redwine in 1961; her mother, Gertrude Ellie McReynolds Redwine in 1970; her husband in 1969; a grandson, Stephen Wayne Tannehill in 1968; brothers, Alfred, James Michael, Jr. and Frank Redwine; and sister, Alene Prather.
