Jon Adelsman, Wash., died June 16, 2011, at his home on Puget Sound surrounded by loving family and friends.

Jon Adelsman was born on October 16, 1936, in Fergus Falls, to LeDue and Edith Adelsman.

He enjoyed an active life, experiencing many sports from ski jumping to speedskating in his youth, becoming a prominent cyclist winning many titles in college and afterwards.

He enjoyed traveling, fine food, cooking, landscaping, carpentry, gardening, cross-country skiing, and orchestrating sophisticated practical jokes.

He graduated from Macalester College and received his Masters in social work from the University of Minnesota. After military service in Germany, he worked for Hennepin County and the State of Minnesota and retired from the Department of Corrections in Washington state.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Michael.

Memorial services are private and will be held at the convenience of family and friends.
