Glover Alford, 77, 427 Edwards St., died at 7:28 a.m. Friday, April 5, 1974, in St. Anthony Hospital, after a long illness. Born April 26, 1896, in Kentucky. Lived 22 years in Rockford, coming here from Peoria. Married to the former Stella Valentine in Waukegon, July 29, 1964. Employed as a elevator operator by Rockford Brass Works for a number of years before retiring. Veteran of World War I serving overseas in the U.S. Army. Members of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his widow, Stella, and one daughter, Mrs. Charlene Fletcher, Rockford.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church…. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by C.A. Moore Funeral Home, 1626 Clifton Ave., where friends may call from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday; the rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Monday.
